Photograph more than the focal wall

Include doorways, stairs, nearby furniture, power access if relevant and the floor area around the proposed setup. Explain which furniture will remain and which areas need to stay clear.

Plan for people, not just photographs

Think about seating, how guests will enter, and the space needed around the focal area. A decoration brief should explain how the gathering will use the room.

Explain the mood in concrete terms

Instead of only saying premium or simple, share a colour palette, reference images and the features you like in each one. Mention the elements you do not want as well.

Confirm the practical details

Discuss building access, stairs, setup windows, venue rules and installation methods with the decorator. Any restrictions should be known before the quotation is finalized.

Ask questions before booking

Confirm the dimensions, floral materials, inclusions and price, along with booking terms. If a detail matters to you, make it part of the agreed brief.
